2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent DVD Archive of Threads Magazine By Orianna "Threads" is a magazine for those who sew. It doesn't matter whether you're a novice or expert, there's content for you. Each magazine contains tips and tricks, tutorials for unique embellishment techniques, basic how-to guides, and even stuff written by the experts, like Kenneth King and those of his ilk. As I said, whether you've been sewing for thirty years or are just a beginner, you'll benefit from this magazine. What this is, however, isn't a single magazine, or even a subscription. No, it's something much more valuable---an archive! The archive contains EVERY article of EVERY issue they've produced since the very first magazine in 1985. It goes right up to the end of 2015, which means you're getting 31 years' worth of sewing advice! It's a DVD-ROM, so you'll need a DVD player attached to your computer to install it. Once it's installed, which can take awhile, you'll have full access to all the content, which is an immense library. You can browse random issues, looking for inspiration for your next project, or you can search for specific terms. The interface is sophisticated---much nicer than the older version I had before I upgraded. It will let you bookmark any issues that you want to find again. And you can filter your search results by year, so if you know the article you're looking for was in 1992 or 1993, you can narrow the search down. This is a great product for anyone who sews! I'm a sewing teacher and I always recommend a subscription to Threads magazine to my students, and if they find it useful, I recommend the archive, too. Five stars and highly recommended! Would make a great gift for the seamstress or dressmaker in your life, too.
