2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. His style is very easy to follow By Robin Jovovich A very interesting book. First of all, the author is not a nutcase. He doesn't have prophetic visions of doom or predictions of the zombie apocalypse to peddle. He points out there are many different local or regional disasters that can and have disrupted the normal way of life for days or weeks at a time. Prepping puts you in position to survive these events.His style is very easy to follow. A conversational tone and illustrations from his own experience makes the author very human.The book is a good beginning resource. It surveys areas such as food, power, health care and defense. It presents numerous options that are available and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of each. Often he intends to start the thought process and provides other resources where you can pursue the ideas further.I enjoyed this book very much.

By Cogent Matchless Antrax Being a dad of three kids is very challenging especially my little boys are in their formative years. It is true that being a family man, preparation is a must. I read lots of books, did lots of drill from fire drill to flood, survival games which are all facilitated by the company I work for were all useful.This book add up to my preparation guide in keeping my family safe in times of disaster. Some of it are already applied while some tips are about to be applied.It is good to know that people nowadays publish books that raised awareness on being prepared. At the end of the day, the preparedness will win the circumstances that we are in.

Kevin Moore has done a great job in creating a book filled with advices, tools, step by step guides, about preparation to anything that may happen.There are tons of things I like about the book, and tons of learnings I have gained. Here are some of my favorites,-Truly there are three things we need to consider for survival when fortuitous things happen - food, shelter, and water.Kevin has done a great job in getting into details on how to really prepare ourselves to get these 3 necessary things keep in place.-He taught about how to stockpile foods and provided the basic food items that are ideal for long-term.-He also gave advice on how to have a water storage, and which amount of water should we need to store.-I've learned also about how to create a perfect bug out bag.-He also taught about things when you're in off grid living (meaning no electricity).-One of my favorites is that the 100 tips and tricks on how to prepare your family for disaster, like for example,use crayons as an emergency candle; if there's no knife, smash together 2 rocks to make a sharp edge; use duct tape to help open jars easily. Those are just examples of 100 tips that he taught about in the book, that is truly a "gold' mine for everyone.-Another favorite I have found on the book is the 77 items you need to have in your stockpile:like salt, batteries, blade sharpener, firewood, scissors, and many more.- But most of all, this line in the book is what I really like, he said,"In an emergency situation, knowledge is a powerful advantage. The more you have, the better off you'll be."Truly, this book is packed with knowledge, a "gold mine", that anyone can use, in preparation for any fortuitous event or disaster.That's why I highly recommend this book to everyone. Kevin Moore has done a great job in helping a lot of people through this book."Definitely 5-Star"
