By Donald Bain Another release from the Brian Smith stable which sustains the quality of his productions. It's a hefty 200 pages plus. The text, as usual,is supported by online MP3. The package provides a very relaxing and highly efficient method of learning to speak and read German. The phraseology is generated from the 1000 most common-use words which are cleverly manipulated to repeat the same meaning but through using a different construction This provides instant reinforcement of the meaning while offering different ways of saying it with variations of the same words. within short interesting stories of everyday events.Mr Smith is onto something very solid and reassuring with his method of teaching languages. If this book is used along with first Easy Reader you will acquire an excellent grounding in German. I would rank these books as being in the best language training courses available. They expose the hyperbole of very expensive courses. Thoroughly recommended.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Don't buy the Kindle version. Go for the paper book. By AF This is just a review for the Kindle version. The formatting is very clunky, and you wind up reading two very narrow columns, German on one /English on the other, and it is very disorienting. Also, the columns can only fit a few words per line. If you turn the ebook to landscape mode, the formatting doesn't change/accommodate. Unlike the paper book, which has an entire section in German and then English, the Kindle version is barely readable in its current format. I wound up returning it and will order the paper book.

By Elena I have already left a review for "German Easy Reader" but I will review this one as well.I use this book when I want to start talking about slightly more complex things. After a semester of German, I am able to understand roughly 70% of the book (I am not sure if that is good or bad). I wanted a book that has many daily words and phrases, so if someone asks me "what did you do today" in German, I can describe it!
