I have tried guitar training videos, taken classes, and so much more but couldn't pick it up. I found this book and began to look through it.I've picked up my guitar again and started from the beginning of the book. To me, the beginning of any guide book should grab your attention and help you to easily pick up whatever you are learning. To my surprise, it happened immediately. I loved how the author laid out the different steps and exercises in an easy to follow manner.If you have been struggling learning to play the guitar like I have, try this book out. It is easy, enjoyable, and very helpful! Totally Worth It!
4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Very detailed and well written By Tebutebu I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar and tried twice. However, I found it too difficult and gave up . I think if I had this book at the time, I would have been encouraged to keep at it.I like the fact that this book starts by teaching what not to do when learning to play the guitar. This is really useful because it helps the reader to start off in the right way. The author discusses both basic and more complex stuff. For example from early on in the book he discusses thumb positioning, knowing the right type of guitar for you, accessories needed etc. He then progresses into more complex stuff like Bar chords, Fast chord changing etc. The book is very visual as the author has included beautiful pictures which he uses to illustrate his points; there is no way you would misunderstand the point he is making with the added pictures.This book is written simply with nice catchy titles, so that anyone can easily follow it and flow along. It is obvious that it has been written by someone who truly loves the guitar and knows what he is talking aboutMy personal highlights from the book are the sections on finger exercises and the testimony section which show that the author's strategy works.This is a really detailed book so well written and not tiresome to read.
