By Amazon Customer I have received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Even though I can speak a little French, I saw this book as an opportunity to either expand or improve my knowledge of this language. However, it left me a bit disappointed.The book is a collection of basic French grammar and vocabulary. I did like the way language was presented - with English translation, though the pronunciation is a different thing. French is a very difficult language to pronounce and thus written explanation of how to pronounce words is simply not sufficient to learn this language. It is a very good idea to divide words in categories. However, the words listed in this book can hardly be described as basic French vocabulary, and I cannot think of a situation in which an average person travelling to France would use most of these words. Besides, in today's age of Internet, there is no need to list every single word. It would be more useful to put down whole phrases and dialogues (though there were some useful ones in the book).Altogether, this is not a bad book, but can be used only as a reference, and definitely not as a guide to learning basic French.

I've ordered several books since then, however, never using.What I like about this book is that it is easy to follow. It's not really teaching you French, as in what you would learn in a classroom; but more of a crash course if you needed to learn quickly for a trip. It covers going to the restaurant, asking questions, what to say at a hotel, how to order, etc. It shows the French Phrase, then how it is pronounced phonetically, then the English version.Very effective.

By Jason D Wilson (I am copying my comments to another review to the top level)This is not a instructional book on WCF per se. It does add advanced knowledge that you will not find anywhere else. It is a mind expanding experience, but not a manual (although chapter one is knowledge that should be in any manual on WCF). The build up of ServiceModelEx is worth the price of admission even if the text is bit dry.Sorry Juval and Monty...it is thoroughly informative and kind of dry. I am very happy with the purchase (even if I had to wait 7 months for it to arrive) and will recommend it without reservation.

Great from beginning, clearly written, builds on what you learn, covers topics thoroughly, while providing big picture thinking By Daylight Reviews A great book right from the beginning. Chapter 1, WCF Essentials, is a fantastic, easy to read, introduction to the basics of WCF.This book is written very well. Technical books must be complete, but they also must be written in a direct manner so that even though the book covers a huge amount of territory that you don't become overwhelmed by everything at once. This book balances the two challenges very well because it is begins at the beginning and continues on, building on what you've previously learned from the book.Another great thing about the book is that it brings together the over-all message of building enterprise applications using the various Microsoft technologies so you can obtain a big picture view of those technologies. It does all this while not skimping on the very specific details that you need to write real enterprise services which interact with each other.Finally, the book is written so clearly -- on a very tough subject -- that you will be drawn into the narrative of the "Story of WCF".Obviously, this author knows his material but also knows exactly how to commuicate what he knows so that others can learn from it.

This book does not show you how to do anything with WCF. It's an extremely unclear and verbose jargon filled talk about different pieces and parts of WCF. You'll never see how to put the pieces together or any working example (That I've found yet). I've stopped reading midway through and just started skimming looking for anything that might be helpful. I'm now looking for another book.I suppose if you already have mastered WCF then this book could be used as a reference but if you know enough to use this book as a reference then you wouldn't need it. I apologize to the author for being so critical but it is very aggravating to pay over $40 to get a book on info you need only to find you bought what I would call an ego book (a book written in a way to show off what the author knows rather than teach you anything)

The author gives us 366 prompts (bonus for the leap year), assigning one every day. While it is not necessary to take on each prompt on its assigned day, it would be quite a challenge to do so. This work is ideal for a writer, of any skill level, looking for inspiration. I'm sure that it is a resource to which I will return quite often through the year (and unlike a regular calendar, it will still be of use long after the current year has ended). Bottom line: This is an excellent value and a packet of "seeds" which may well generate many bouquets.

By Cheryl Meril I received this book in a bundle package from the Skywatchtv site and was shocked to learn the pet food industry's not regulated. Of course it should be, that people expect their pets food to be safe! Otherwise they are slowly killing these animals including altering their DNA. This timely book is much needed and we should support its revelation with all our might for those who have no voice to defend themselves. Though its true there are far more dire issues in the world, it doesn't take much effort to make sure your pet's not being poisoned.

To people not familiar with the pet food industry, this book will come as a revelation. It may even be difficult to believe! However, it's well-researched and logical, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone and everyone who has a pet. You need to know what's really going on behind the scenes in order to make the best decisions for your pet's health and well being!

Even the earth sings as she soars through the solar system spinning on her axis. Our world is full of music. I often use the sounds of nature when I write music. The birds sing, the waves move, the stream babbles and the wind whistles. I actually wrote a different melody for each season. I was inspired by leaves falling in the autumn, cold wind and snow blowing in the winter, the beauty and renaissance of spring and the warmth and playfulness of summer. Frost While I understand its just a coffee table book, there is just no meaningful content here. The games are described with only a bit more insight or detail than you would get from the back of the game case. Its also a very short read (1.5 hour) and feels more like a magazine extra issue than a "book". I don't doubt the author is passionate about the games but for me, that passion just did not come through in the writing.

Some light bathroom reading when I forget my phone. I didn't know it have a 'checklist' on the back pages to track and rate these masterful games. So, it's been fun looking back and rating the games that I've played and to try to complete the others.From another perspective. My fiance has sent some time looking through the page long pictures, finding games that seem to appeal to her and reading about them. She's not the biggest gamer, but she's learning that there is more out there then just Mario and Crash Bandicoot.All in all, the book is well written and is presented in bit size chucks for quick reads. Get for gaming newcomers to get a vertical slice of the best games and fun for connoisseurs that are looking to fill some gaming gaps and a burst of nostalgia.GLHF
