If you do then don’t miss giving this Doctor Who collection The Secret Lives of Monsters book for the holidays. This fully illustrated color book is a compilation of the many monsters and aliens that have been shown in the BBC episodes. The information contained in this book is the truth behind the torchwood files. It contains a lot of specific alien information that is not fully explained in the individual episodes. This book is a collector’s edition with colored pictures filling each page. Each of the 288 pages are splattered with diagrams and illustrations. My son picked up this book and could not put it down. The detailed information was all consuming for him. He read the book from cover to cover and then started to look for other episodes online to watch the monsters that he had just read about. He knew that his brother would like it so much that we hid it from his and we are going to surprise him with it at Christmas. This book is a must for your Doctor Who fan at Christmas time! I really enjoyed the history story behind each of the "Monsters". Because the background is revealed to you piecemeal, sometimes you can't connect the pieces. This book ties it all together. The behind-the-scenes look lets you see the actor (with and without makeup) and the mechanical villains. There are photos of scenes and props so you see what is not shown in the episode. I was stunned at the sheer volume of information conveyed in the book that I had missed even though I'm a rabid fan. This is a list of the "Monsters" covered in the book:CybermenDaleksGreat IntelligenceIce WarriorsJudoonKrillitanesNestenes & AutonsOodSilenceSilurians & Sea DevilsSlitheenSontaransWeeping AngelsZygons
