I believe it was Jimmy Hoffa who once said, "He knows the words, but can't sing the song." That is not the case here. Kim not only forms the outline of the ceremony, but fills in all the details, and then delivers it with style and distinction. Just as Dylan was was the voice of his generation of musicians, so it is with Kim and all those who have learned and will continue to learn from her experience. She is truly one of a kind, and this book will appeal to creative people everywhere, who have or are in the process of reinventing themselves.

Conducting Stories of Love By CharLena Pearson-Fulcher Ms. Kirkley’s new book (Love Stories: A Celebrant’s Work) at times seemed to be written just for me. I found Ms. Kirkley’s writing style to be crisp, with a feeling of camaraderie. Through her writing I feel I know her even better, which is partly through her former life as an attorney, her journey into Celebrant work, and her style of writing. I see why she has so many accolades from past clients. The first half of the book is dedicated to Ms. Kirkley's journey to becoming a celebrant, in which she points out that the celebrants “are dedicated to empowering and expressing their clients’ desires”. Many tradition-based ministers can be hampered by their organization’s formulaic wording, whereas a Celebrant is free to work fully with their clients’ desires. This allows the celebrant to gleam the couple’s deepest love and express it in words that the couple has ‘word-for-word approval. The second half of the book is dedicated to a Q & A section in which everything has been clarified. Ms. Kirkley alleviates any apprehension about hiring a Celebrant or about becoming a Celebrant. After reading her book so many of my questions have been answered as to why I plan to join this particular work. Having just completed a wedding ceremony borrowing a bit of the feel of a Celebrant, I know my couple and their guests were most appreciative.Whether you are an officiant, tradition-based minister, a Celebrant-in-training or an inquisitive wedding couple Ms. Kirkley's book answers all of your questions fully. After reading even a few pages you will know who to hire or whether you'd like to join the roster of Life-Cycle Celebrants. Thank you Ms. Kirkley for sharing your insights, you are correct in saying “everyone can feel safe” with you.CharLena Pearson-FulcherAuthor & Wedding Officiant[...]

She is open about her journey to becoming a Life-Cycle Celebrant, and then she takes a close look at how to create effective transitional ceremonies that celebrate the milestones of one's life, especially at the pivotal moment of a marriage ceremony. This will be one of my "go to" resource books for my own Celebrant practice!
