Hoffman I want to rate this 5 stars because the authors have done so much for the writer community, but honestly I just can't.Is it worth the $, Yes.Could it be so much better, YES!Both authors have contacts in the publishing world with other authors who co-write. I am sure had they decided to reach out to the SPP guys valuable information could have made this book more detailed. It is thin on pages and information but the information is useful and clearly presented. Can you co-write without reading this book, Yes.Should you? Eh.

Useful But Lacks Depth By Tim Moon Co-Writing A Book is an overview of the "how" and "why" behind J.Thorn and Joanna Penn's recent collaboration.I've been a fan of Joanna for a while now. I've read her book formerly known as Pentecost (now Stone of Fire) and listened to nearly all of her podcast episodes. She has great talent. I've heard of J.Thorn but never read any of his books. The biggest surprise to me was the lack of depth in this book. Sure, it's less than 60 pages, but still processes could have been covered better. Especially since both authors also know people who co-write, they could have tapped them for insight and a useful compare and contrast section. Thorn includes some background on his previous co-writing projects but it was also quite broad in scope.Never fear though. They do touch on all the basics, the stuff specifically mentioned in the description, so you'll have an idea of how to approach your project. In fact, the section about the writing agreement was probably the most useful. It included a lot of great things to think about and include in your own co-writing agreement. Overall the book is good and useful but surprisingly brief, especially for $2.99.

I wasn't sure how this book would work since I listened to her podcast on her collaboration with J. Thorn. I found the work approachable and it made me want to attempt co-writing a book. Thank you for this publication.
