Review Are you still a bit confused on precuts? C&T Publishing has put together a nice 32 page booklet called “Quilter's Precut Companion”. This all-in-one guide to precuts is a spiral-bound, easy to take with you reference guide that covers everything you need to know about precuts. This little gem is filled with charts and information on everything precut…did you know there are at least 7 different names for 10”x10” squares? I liked the chart called Precuts and Quilt Size, if no other fabric is used, this chart gives you an idea of how many packs or strips of the most common precuts you will need to make the various size quilts. You will also find instructions for making Easy Half-Square Triangles and blocks using the half-square triangle units. In fact there are 25 traditional quilt blocks you can make from precut squares, strips, and triangles. (The Appliqué Society Newsletter, Jan/Feb 2016)

By Susan D As a newbie quilter this book is fantastic.I am sure anyone who quilts will find this bookinvaluable.The spiral bound book provideswith a quick and easy guide to quilting.Using pre-cuts makes quilting so much easier.It's difficult when you start out to be ableto afford all the fabric you would like.Going into a shop you feel overwhelmedwith the amount of choice you have.Choosing pre-cuts means you can get afantastic array of fabrics that make brilliant quilts.The designers take the decisions for you andput together the fabrics that make amazing quilts.Once you have the fabric you want to useyou can use the book to help make all the decisions about your quilt.The book starts by giving you all the standardquilt sizes including ones with a drop & tuck.You then have a breakdown of the standardprecut sizes and names.This is all new to me and it's fantasticallyhelpful.It takes the language and makes it easy to follow.The guide also breaks down how manyprecuts you will need for each size of quilt.You then have diagrams and sizes for cuttingfat quarters into each of the sizes.From there it sets out how to cut layer cakes andcharm squares.Then it gives you wonderful tips onusing precuts.You then have a diagram that detailswhat yardage is required for borders.Bonding and backings are then broken downin various sizes.I just can't believe how much informationis packed in. It explains binding widthand shows example diagrams of different bindings.Bias strips, opening seams and offsetare explained.The back of the book breaks down triangles.It takes you step by step throughthe different designs you can make with them.The step by step instructions andsizing graphs make everything so simple.You can follow each step by step to makeamazing quilts.This book is fantastic and is a wonderfulinformation book for any quilter.I have been afraid of how to work withmy pre-cuts but this book helps make more sense.I would highly recommend this book.I'll be using it time and again.It's useful to any level of quilter.I received this book to review.However all opinions expressed are my own.No monies were exchanged.

By Mom of 2 Boys Great little reference book, but the cover is cheap and flimsy and arrived bent. If I'd seen this in person, I'm not sure I would've spent $10 on it. Please publish this book with either a sturdy paperback cover or a hardcover. I feel a bit ripped off based on the quality of the cover. Inside pages are fine.

Harris This is a really terrific reference guide, especially for anyone using precuts in quilting projects. I have two of them - one I keep by my computer when I am ordering online, and the other in my purse for when I am out shopping. It is packed with not only dimensions, but ways to cut them, samples showing how to use them in quilt blocks, quilt sizes. For the price, this is the best quilting reference companion I have ever owned. Some may wonder about the cover, but I like it. It gives me a place to put my notes, and fabric swatches for when I am fabric shopping.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. This one just wasn't as funny as the others By Jean Cable This one just wasn't as funny as the others. I think a large part of this was some of the characters. I didn't like reading the parts about Randy (who was introduced in book 3) and I hated Denise who was almost always with Randy. Situations that might have been funny were instead spoiled by these two. In addition, I found Tim to be pretty annoying during book 3 and absolutely hated him in this one. It might just be his character arc, but the way he interacts with the other characters drove me up the wall.That said, the final setpiece for this one was definitely the funniest of all the books. It's just that a lot of the smaller laughs fell flat for me.To sum up, not enough Cooper, way too much Denise and Tim.

I'm going to miss the former status of one of the main characters whose antics never failed to stop my ability to breathe. Hopefully Bevan has something in mind to continue providing that particular brand of humor in the next book.Some of the humor is getting old, but Bevan handles it in a very self-aware way since we are kind of stuck with it for now. Cooper could really use a charisma-boosting item or something.This series and the stormlight archive are the only two series I buy instantly on release and switch from whatever I was reading at the time.

The series keeps getting better By Gordon Guano Once again, Robert Bevan shows that he knows just how to raise the stakes in high fantasy, then drag them through the gutter, making the reader laugh like a loon the whole way. But it's not just dick and fart jokes; we also get treated to satisfying character development, a light seasoning of mordant social commentary, and hilarious enough blasphemy to keep even the damned cackling as their spit turns.

RLS at his Best By Rocky Macy Somewhere over the past few years I acquired a copy of a wonderful collection of stories by the famed author Robert Louis Stevenson. The volume, New Arabian Nights, is a mere one-hundred-and-ten years old, and in very good condition. While I can't remember when or where I bought it (undoubtedly in a flea market somewhere), it resurfaced recently as I was unboxing the books that I had stored in Arizona while I was overseas - and I put it in a stack next to my bed.The collection began with a bit of a sarcastic "note" which indicated that the author had been victimized by a plagiarist. He said:"I must prefix a word of thanks to the gentleman who condescended to borrow the gist of one of my stories, and even to honor it with the addition of his signature. This mark of appreciation emboldened me to make the present collection."Ouch!Prior to tackling this interesting collection, my only experiences with Stevenson had been his classic tales for youth, Kidnapped and Treasure Island. The stories of New Arabian Nights were written for an older and more worldly audience. The author, ever the master storyteller, managed to showcase his humor, dramatic flare, and superior plotting abilities in the six stories of this collection. His subjects ranged from a young man who accidentally backed into a house late at night through a door that wasn't latched, only to find that once inside there was no way out - to chronicling the nocturnal adventures of a pair of entertainers (husband and wife) who were locked out of their Paris hotel for a night because they returned after it had been secured for the evening.The best story in the collection is "The Suicide Club," a dark tale in which a European prince got himself entangled in a group of men who all had a desire to die. He assumed from what little he knew of the club, (he did not really want to die, and joined just to study the drama of the others), that he would be relatively safe. However, he learned at his first meeting that the club met each evening and the person who would die that night as well as the person who would do the killing were both determined through a game of chance. The prince, alas, was too proud to back out of his membership in the organization. Macabre complications ensued.Stevenson's stories in this collection were all very original. Each of the six took place in or around London or Paris, with a couple set in the 1400's and the others in Stevenson's own era of the late 1800's. They examined the human condition through tales of greed, revenge, murder, and even love. All had twists and turns aplenty, and were as captivating as they were clever.Robert Louis Stevenson was quite the prolific writer. I thoroughly enjoyed New Arabian Nights and will be on the lookout for more of his works. I predict he has a golden literary future!

About the Author Rico Pfirstinger studied communications and has been working as a journalist, publicist, and photographer since the mid-'80s. He has written numerous books on a diverse range of topics, from computing technology to digital desktop publishing to sled dog racing. He worked as the department head of special assignments for Hubert Burda Media in Munich, Germany, where he also served as chief editor for a winter sports website. After eight years as a freelance film critic in Los Angeles, Rico now lives in Germany and devotes his time to digital photography and compact camera systems. Rico writes the popular X-Pert Corner blog on FujiRumors.com and leads workshops called Fuji X Secrets where he offers tips and tricks on using the Fujifilm X-series cameras.

We both have recently purchased a Fuji X-T10 and this book has been a great source of information for us. We appreciate the author's personal tips and recommendations. As with all cameras, the manuals that come with them leave much to be desired. As there are just a few guides for this camera available we highly recommend it.

Much better information than you will get from the x-t10 user manual By Michael Webb This book give a lot more information than the user manual and many suggestions that I found very helpful. Better explanations of many menu items and exactly what they do will let me make better choices, leading to better control of the camera and better use of this camera as a photography tool. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of new information it contains.

About the Author Jonas started a company back in 1994 focusing on education in Microsoft Office and the Microsoft operating systems. While still studying at the university in 1995, he wrote his first book about Widows 95 as well as a number of course materials. In the year 2000, after working as a Microsoft Office developer consultant for a couple of years, he wrote his second book about Visual Basic 6.0. Between 2000 and 2004 he worked as a Microsoft instructor with two of the largest educational companies in Sweden. First teaching Visual Basic 6.0, and when Visual Basic.NET and C# were released he started teaching these languages as well as the .NET Framework. Teaching classes on all levels for beginner to advanced developers. From the year 2005, Jonas shifted his career towards consulting once again, working hands on with the languages and framework he taught. Jonas wrote his third book C# programming aimed at beginners to intermediate developers in 2013 and now in 2015 his fourth book C# for beginners - The Tactical Guide Book was published.

By Adam Gustafsson Jonas Fagerberg's book is the one I am using when I learned C sharp, it is incredibly easy to read and understandable, if you do not understand something, you drop it in place while you do the exercises to the paragraph you read where you are doing the exercise steps by step and at the same time everything is explained properly and in addition pictures from the code! Very easy to navigate your way through the book if you would like to find a special piece that you want to learn. I recommend this book 10/10!

A beginner By Claudio M B I got this book for some week ago.As a rookie programmer with only some knowledge of computer science and programming,this book has been a great column of support and reference to rely on when digging into this world of code.Easy to follow and understand. A mind opener when encountering obstacles and overcoming problems.Also nevertheless uncomplicated and straight forward wich is important when teaching unexperienced.I recommend it much for C# rookies!*****
