The pages are too thin to use markers which is all I use so it makes the backs of pages unusable. I'm going to use it for budgeting so I can do with out backs of pages. Lovely pages to color though.

I wish the photos would show pictures of what this planner looks like inside. First off, the planner is the size of a sheet of paper (which was probably listed in dimensions/description but I didn't pay attention). Secondly, it is laid out in calendar form with the whole month on one page with maaaaaybe 1.5 in x 1.5 in boxes to write tasks into. I was hoping for a normal planner lay out so it is just not what I was looking for or expected to receive. Cool concept though as far as a coloring calendar, which is why I give 3 stars bc if this and what I described above is what you're looking for then go for it :)

The spaces are kind of small to write very many things on each day. The extra "To Do" lists and other extras are nice as well.My biggest complaint is the fact that there is a misspelled word in one of the pictures. Did anybody edit this? It seems so strange to me that this was allowed to be sold with such an obvious error.

By Toafk178 The only part that has value in this deal WAS the shipping, and that has become much less reliable since they started using the US Post Office and 'independent delivery contractors.' In the past year, they have completely lost 3 of my purchases, one of which could not be replaced. Also, they often deliver only to the mailbox, which for me is 250 ft from the house, right on the street. I have tried to add delivery instructions. UPS and FedEx are the only ones who comply, but, as previously stated, they are rarely used anymore.As for the Prime Video, the majority is either foreign language, indie, documentary, or over 40 years old. Anything you want to watch will be available, but you'll have to pay extra for it.After comparing costs between Amazon Prime, Netflix, Dish, and cable, the most economical route is to just get a cable subscription and wait until you are ready to make a purchase that is enough to get the free shipping that month. With all the On Demand channels, you get access to much more quality viewing and still get to watch shows when you want.

By Amazon Customer This is not necessarily a review of the book, but I do want to vocalize my frustrations about Amazon Prime in general. First things first, no matter WHAT you've done in the past, it is never necessary to assume that a customer wants to automatically purchase something just by clicking on a link. What I mean by this is: I was at the "review my products" page, and right above my items, there were two links. One of the links says "Get Fast, Free Shipping and save $5.44 on this order" (with the savings being directly related to my total), and the other link said "YES, I want free two-day shipping". I clicked on the FIRST link, and instead of being brought to a screen giving me info on how this free shipping is possible, It automatically "renews" my prime membership, taking $102.00 out of my account (not the specific amount with tax). I put "renew" in quotes, because this has actually similarly happened to me before, about 2 years ago, and the money had to be refunded into my account, except under different circumstances. The person at amazon prime said that because I had previously had a prime membership (which was not true, it lasted less than 20 minutes after realizing my account had been drafted), they assume that it is OK to take money out of your account without verifying whether it is what you really want to do. I honestly do not know why I clicked the link in the first place, but long story short, that link should've taken me to another page, only to explain how you would receive free shipping. Rather, the link immediately sent me to a CONFIRMATION page, thanking me for signing up with AMAZON Prime, only to have taken the money out of my account. Of course, it takes 2-3 business days for this money to be returned, and I had a payment coming out of my account the next business day, which will send my account into overdraft. This is frustrating because I CAN READ, and why would they give you two link options if they both did the same thing? Anyway, I spoke with Amazon and it just made it worse, which is why I am now writing a negative review. If Amazon, or anyone else has any questions concerning this, please feel free to contact me at 713-397-3295.

They won't let you review it! The movie selection is poor at best. Not one movie I have searched for is included in prime (but you can buy or rent it!)... One free book a month? The only good part is the two day shipping... Or is it? Nothing is free people! The price is higher now to cover the shipping duh!

I had used the on-line manual quite a bit but was still just shooting in "auto" as the on-line documentation was difficult for me to follow. This book tells how to use the many features of the RX10M2 and when to use them. Well worth the money. Sony could and should do much better with the documentation. Wonderful guide to this camera.

The author takes you through all the menus and options the camera has to offer. He recommends, through his personal experience, what features are useful and which are not. I enjoyed sitting down with the book and camera in my lap and trying all the settings and features the author describes. Well organized and well written.

In this race, we all want to achieve more in a shorter time. Rapid skill acquisition is a key to professional and personal success. You know that. I know that. You want that. I want that. But, hold on for a minute. Let’s take a breath in this race to answer a few questions. Is it possible to learn a language in a couple of months, let alone seven days. I didn’t study linguistics. I studied mathematics. And mathematicians love to stress test statements like “learn a language in seven days.” A statement like that turns on red alarms in my head. What do they mean by that? To what extent? Is there a specific way to measure language learning achievements after seven days? And what happens after those seven days? Is that measure going to be the same after fourteen days if we stop learning on the eighth day? I could go on and on with questions like these, but it would be better to direct you to studies in cognitive psychology—the science of learning. Those studies have shown that time and effort are necessary to learn effectively for the long run. Effective learning happens when you space your study over time. During this process, you forget things. You recall. You forget again. You recall again. That’s okay. That’s 100% healthy learning. We are not computers that can absorb gigabytes of information in a matter of seconds. When you feel you are learning superfast, trying to make learning “easy,” you usually see your learning efforts evaporate within weeks, days, or even hours. Then, I want to ask—why would you want to learn a language in seven days? Why such a rush? If you’re being relocated to another country for work next Monday, why don’t you spend a few hours immersing yourself in the culture? Why don’t you watch a couple of films in the language? Why don’t you spend some time finding interesting facts about the language? Why don’t you meet a group of native speakers in your city, have a coffee, and practice your first words with them? The first thing you should do is to flirt with the language. The flirt will gradually transform into love. And, if there is love for the language, you will speak the language very soon. It will happen as a result. The time required to achieve fluency should never be your primary goal. You should understand that outstanding learning results happen when you’re in a state of calmness, curiosity, and motivation. If you’re stressed to achieve something, that something will want to run away from you. This book will teach you ways to stay motivated while learning a language. Some methods are unconventional, but they are all backed-up by scientific studies, and they work. Learning a language is just an aspect of your life. Through learning a language, you should aim to become a better person, face new challenges, overcome your fears, take risks, and grow. You don’t have to sit and listen to boring language tapes anymore, and you don’t have to listen to a word and repeat it, listen to a word and repeat, etc. Angelos will show you many ways to learn a new language. You will be totally motivated by his techniques, and you will have fun learning.

About the Author

Joseph Albahari is author of C# 5.0 in a Nutshell, C# 5.0 Pocket Reference and LINQ Pocket Reference. He also wrote LINQPad - the popular code scratchpad and LINQ querying utility.

Ben Albahari is the founder of Take On It. He was a Program Manager at Microsoft for 5 years, where he worked on several projects, including the .NET Compact Framework and ADO.NET.He was the cofounder of Genamics, a provider of tools for C# and J++ programmers, as well as software for DNA and protein sequence analysis. This continues the good trend.I'm currently doing java at work (more fun than SharePoint web parts), but am starting on a home project with vs 2015 community and the latest frameworks and components and want a handy reference to speed up knowing the changes from earlier c#. I've watched enough channel 9 videos to know what to expect.The nutshell book, flipping through it, had the same style and massive well organized content I expected. This isn't a book to read from end to end like a few advanced JavaScript books I just finished. It's a defence book that goes into significant detail on certain topics, and it's organized by the mind of things the language does, including things actually fine by the grandkids but implemented by the language. LINQ and the finer points of generics regarding inheritance are good examples of what I mean. Those are language specific but really choke from the .NET framework and can't be explained in books that build an application and talk to your add they do so.

On the cover it states the book covers .NET Framework 4.6 but it only gives a very general overview of it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it means the lion share of this huge 1000+ page nutshell is dedicated to the C# language. In addition to an overview section, many of the individual sections cover elements of .NET Framework 4.6 but not deeply.Other books that cover .NET in greater detail, in addition to covering C#, are far too big. For example, the Apress book "C# 6.0 and the .NET 4.6 Framework" by Andrew Troelsen is a 1700+ page book that weighs 5.5 pounds!! This O'Reilly Nutshell book goes deeper into C# than the aforementioned tome. C# and .NET are both deep subjects that should be covered in separate books.One reason I often shy away from the O'Reilly 'Nutshell' series of books is because the pages are smaller and as a consequence, the font is also small. It's not easy to read code when it's printed this small.This book also has a very handy pocket reference that's sold separately here on Amazon. I keep the full length book at home and take pocket reference to work.

The Hobbit: The Art of War By JMM [[VIDEOID:1feb0bb4715a4dae62e1f41d9a87a1f0]]Weta is an amazing company that does most of the design work on the "Hobbit" films. They do everything from practical effects (prosthetics and miniatures) to digital effects (CGI simulations and character animation). It's important to note that the people that work on these films are not only master technicians, but they are very creative artists as well."The Art of War" is the final book in the Chronicles of the Hobbit trilogy. It contains art and designs from the final Hobbit film, "The Battle of the Five Armies". In particular, the focus is on the big battle that is the centerpiece of the movie - the characters and creatures involved; their weapons and armor; as well as discussions about fighting styles and battle formations.But it's not all about the battle: also included are several pages on Smaug's attack on Lake Town; as well as Bilbo's return to the Shire. As has been the case with all of these books, "The Art of War" is sure to cover every key item within the film - the Arkenstone, the black arrow, the white gems of Lasgalin, etc. Plus there are close-up pictures of the costumes of every major character in the film; as well as details on the armor of each army (the dwarves, the elves, the orcs).At the end of the book, there is a nice bonus: a fold-out battle map of the Siege of Erebor.Overall, this Hobbit Chronicles series is one of the greatest collections of books on my shelf. I'm happy to have them, and for those who love Middle Earth they are a must-own. Congrats to author Daniel Falconer and Harper Design for publishing such a fantastic collection.

Stringfield Been collecting each of these Chronicles as they've become available, and, to be honest, I wasn't certain what my reaction would be to this one while awaiting it's publication. It's probably one of my favorites in the collection of books that Weta has lovingly put together. The third HOBBIT film has a lot going on, and the 250 or so pages here are just chock full of details. It reminded me a bit of the WEAPONS AND WARFARE volume for the LORD OF THE RINGS films with the emphasis on armor and weapons, but, it's very well balanced in other respects. Costumes, creatures, commentary from those involved in the production, lots of photographs and art. I was surprised by the visual details - wouldn't have minded a book twice as tall, even, just to properly take in the workmanship on the costume construction - perhaps one day Weta can tackle a costume book specifically ala STAR WARS: DRESSING THE GALAXY. Overall, paging through this volume is just chewy as heck. As someone who very much enjoys getting a look behind-the-scenes of movie-making, I'd like to commend the designers of this book for shoehorning so much material between the cover. It's a comprehensive effort and carefully laid out.

Beautiful Book By Sherry Mc I fell in love with The Hobbit movies and especially the character Thranduil so when I saw this book I decided to buy it and read about the behind the scenes on the last movie.This is an impressive book. Lovely photos of the costumes, armory, and behind the scenes. What I really like are the actors talking about their characters and how they collaborated at times with the costume department and Weta workshop who did the armory and other special props. There is also input from Art Department, Costume Department and Weta Workshop as they explain how they made decisions on the costumes and props.Beautiful embossed cover that makes this a great coffee table book and conversation piece.In the back of the book is a fold out map of the Siege of Erebor . Some art drawings are in the book too.I was so impressed I've started buying all the books in this series.

These are not your basic simple drawings, but they are not super advanced either. Great for someone who has some drawing skills, but would like to advance them. My favorite superhero tutorial was the Incredible Hulk. The guide also provides a very interesting section on how to create a superhero persona for your child. Very cool addition to the book. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who can draw a little, but would like to improve their techniques!

Good for developing a child’s imagination By Denniger Bolton I thought this book might be something that my young grandson might like since he is crazy about superheroes. This one shows you how to draw five superheroes, RoboCop, Wolverine, who he adores, Cat Woman, Robin, and the Incredible Hulk. While the drawings themselves are set up in stages or a step by step tutorial, it may be a little beyond his skill level. Or maybe not. As the author, Jess Well says, it’s good for a child’s concealed longing to be imaginative. This book is more than just a drawing book though and has many questions a parent can ask the child about the superhero, such as “Do they have a sidekick” or “What kind o an outfit do they wear?” “A common hideaway?”

I love superheroes, but they look so complex. Well, with help from this book I managed to draw many of my favorite ones after just practicing a day or so. I think the key to successful drawing is having someone break down all of the steps into an easy to follow package. That is exactly what this book does. Not only does it make it easy, but also fun. The author understands the needs of people who are beginning to draw and covers those in this book!

Many of the uncoated pages are uncut - two pictures printed on the same page and then folded over at the top. You can lift up the bottom outer corner of the uncut pages. Inside there are poems or more pictures, most in black and white.There are maybe 25 poems - none more than two dozen lines more or less - by Maria Barnas. I assume they were written in English, as no translator is credited. However, her Wikipedia bibliography only shows publications in Dutch. The poems are 'about' shadows or shadowing - being haunted, or followed or perhaps mocked. The feeling of unease and uncertainty.The pictures are perhaps more cryptic. I find I dislike the ones on uncoated paper, which seem undersaturated and hard to make out. Annoying and mocking in a strange way. The semi-gloss prints are more sensual and a relief. Towards the end, there is a full page semi-gloss print of a yellow bucket hanging on a rope over an old tire lying on the ground, improbable in its beauty.There are many pictures of people, their faces are turned away. You can't see their eyes.Quite a remarkable achievement, this book.

The area for writing the day's entry is decently sized, allowing enough space for family memories as well as personal notes. I've had fun jotting down a main memory for each day. It will be interesting to see how life changes over the next 5 years.

I've been using this journal now for about a month and I could not be happier. I use it to just write the most important things and journal in a more detailed way in a different journal. The cover is nice and has a slightly waxy feel which gives it more thickness and protection so I feel that it might hold up a little better over the 5 years. It's pretty thick (about an inch). The quality of the paper is ok. It's perfect for writing but not as great if you stamp the day of the week on it like I did. I was using Archival Ink in black. It had a little bleed through to the next page but not bad. I really look forward to using this over the next 5 years and seeing what I did on the same day the year before.

The Hill Country is very old land, which I have walked and often lived in all of my life. I call it sacred because the quiet in these hills feeds the spirit in ways that seem to me to be very profound. I now live most of my life far from those old hills, but this magical volume carries with it the meditative blessing of their ancient presence. I am very grateful to have it.

I have many books on improvisation and all of them have something valuable. That said,Ready, Aim, Improvise is the most well organized, complete, sensible and above all, musical book on improvisation that I've seen yet.

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Here is a GREAT book !! By W. Kennedy Hal Crook, in my view,has been one of the bright stars in college teaching. His book, Ready, Aim, Improvise, is a "must read", by any musician who is serious about becoming a better improviser and consumate musician. The clarity of his ideas, no non-sense approach to developing as a musician is simply one of the finest texts I have read in over 35 years of teaching. It has been out there since 1999 or so, and remains a cornerstone in the field of jazz studies. I know I am not the first to say Thanks Hal !!!!.

By Djdunn1988 After purchasing the first and applying the knowledge in there to rid our house and property of fleas, treat ear mites, and apply sub Q fluids to 3 dehydrated cats; I had purchased 4 copies of it at $7.50 and gifted it to rescuers in my community that had helped me in a time of need.Purchasing part 2 now - I am nothing but impressed! Everything in part one is in this book, and explained even more thoroughly. I Love the formatting, charts, and in general how easy it is to locate information by topics/subtopic.The best way I can explain this book is that if you own a pet, are into fostering, work with a rescue group, or in general you like to have a resource on hand for family and friends then you need to buy this book.
