It is really just a worthless pamphlet. You are way better off getting something like "iPhone for Dummies" compared to this piece of junk. I am so discouraged. The description misreprents what the customer gets. Buyer beware. Usually Amazon is so straight forward on their descriptions. Again, DO NOT buy.

Once it was received, I had immediate regret. It is around ten pages long and looks like it was produced by a ten year old. There were even three grammatical errors on the first page. Since I have to pay the shipping cost to return this product I refuse to waste any more money. I could most likely pick up something with more substance at the Dollar Store. I couldn't rate this product low enough and the sellers should be embarrassed. Don't waste your money. That is all...

The author couldn't even put in the effort to number the 14 pages it had, I was embarrassed to have purchased this as a Christmas present for my wife. I'll throw it away and buy "Iphones for Seniors" instead. I received the Galaxy S6 version and for about the same price you get a real book, one that is both comprehensive and professionally done.

Excerpt from A Literary History of ScotlandThe general scope of the following pages does not, it is conceived, require any elaborate explanation. The work is an effort to fulfil the promise of its title-page, and it is for the reader to judge how far that effort has been successful. Down to the date of the Union of the Parliaments, the authors task was a perfectly plain-sailing one, in so far as regards the choice of writers to be dealt with. Thenceforward, however, he was from time to time confronted with the question, whether a particular writer of undoubted Scottish nationality should or should not be included in what professes to be a record of Scottish literature. That question was sometimes by no means a simple one to answer, and it was not without misgivings that the resolution was ultimately adopted, to abstain from attempting anything like adequate criticism of men like James Thomson, James Boswell, and Thomas Carlyle, and to rest satisfied with little more than the bare mention of their names. The reasons which determined this course are in each case sufficiently indicated in the text. It was written in an elegant style enhanced at times with flashes of quiet sarcasm and understatement. It would appear that the author actually read everything he discussed. He had a bias against fantasy (Oliphant and MacDonald). He blundered into saying that Stevenson's masterpiece was Prince Otto. He seems indeed to have had a dislike of Stevenson, possibly related to a general dislike of literary success and bestsellers.

About the Author

Tiffany Lovering started tangling as a fun and relaxing craft in between writing novels. As she learned the art of creating different patterns and techniques, tangling quickly became a passion she wanted to share with others. In 2013 she created her own YouTube channel (youtube.com/tiffanylovering) dedicated to showing others her own technique of tangling. She now has more than 400 videos, 41,000+ subscribers and 4 million views on her channel. In addition to YouTube, she has created a small Facebook community where other people who have been using her techniques can participate in a monthly tangle swap that she organizes. She also started a blog at (tiffanytangles.blogspot.com) where she discusses the inspiration and process of the more popular tangles shes created. Tiffany has produced three DVDs with North Light Books that cover tangle tips, techniques and patterns. She also has several courses on Tangling and Mandalas available online at through Artist's Network University (artistsnetworkuniversity.com) that she teaches throughout the year. Excellent Book By Lisa Antunes Excellent book for those just beginning to Zen Doodle or those who are more advanced it gives clear ideas on how to develop your tangles as well as examples and many patterns as well as encouragement for those of us who become discouraged easily. I have bought a few books on this topic and this one by far has more practical advice on how to start, the different mediums you can use, how to go about lettering, design composition but most importantly she encourages exploration to find your own style. I am very happy with the book best one I have bought to date, she also has a YouTube Channel that show you how to draw many tangles I have been a fan of hers since the beginning.

The author does an excellent job of explaining the concept and describe the development under Android. It covers all the key points you get started developing an application. This is probably one of the best ways to begin programming on Android application, which I personally found him, he taught me and helped a lot. This book impressed me is the ability to code almost line by line, and get the working game. This is a good everyday step by step approach. The book tells you exactly what to do and goes about why you are doing what you are doing.

About the Author

Meaghan Kombol was born in Seattle, Washington, and worked for the maverick design company M&Co in New York before moving to London in 2002 where she worked at London's Design Museum before graduating from Greenwich University with a Masters in Landscape Architecture. Since then she has worked with some of the most exciting names in the field, including Martha Schwartz and Kathryn Gustafson — where she worked on the celebrated design for the 'Towards Paradise' garden at the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale. In addition to editing numerous books for Phaidon Press, she has written for The Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century World Architecture and Phaidon's Design Classics.

About the Author

Abdelmonam Kouka

Abdelmonam Kouka is a Tunisian computer engineer. He received his engineering diploma in computer science in 2007 from National School of Computer Sciences (ENSI), one of the best engineering schools in Tunisia. He received a master's degree in information security from the same school (ENSI) in 2009 and a master's degree in free and open source software from ISI/UVT in 2011. He received a master's degree in innovation management (the DICAMP.eu project) in 2014. He was not just a student. In fact, after getting his engineering degree in 2007, in parallel to his master's marathon, he started working as a software developer in HR Access and then as a Zimbra consultant in another company. After that, he started to develop with Alcatel-Lucent as a Java/JEE developer to finish with Alcatel-Lucent as an IP/MPLS Expert. He left Alcatel-Lucent in December 2012 to launch, in partnership with his friend Ayed Akrout, his own startup named TAC-TIC (for more information, visit http://www.tac-tic.net/) that provides ICT services such as software development, open source consulting, and IP/MPLS engineering and support. He is also an Alcatel-Lucent University trainer who delivers advanced courses on IP platforms, fixed networks, and broadband access technologies. While studying for engineering and during all of his professional experience, he was an open source activist; he was a member/co-founder of the Ubuntu-tn community, Sabily community, and the APOS association. He has also been a member of Linux Arabic Community, Arabeyes, CULLT, DFSA, and a lot of other open source clubs, associations, and initiatives. He is also the author of Learning Zimbra Server Essentials, Packt Publishing, 2013.

Delivers well on covering the Ubuntu Server Essentials By Tim Crothers Not a ton of depth in the explanations but that is in line with the intent "essentials". The book does a really good job of covering a broad range of topics for Ubuntu in a short space. The examples all work well and the instructions are very clear. I gave the book four stars instead of five because the book could really benefit from another round of editing. There are a lot of awkward word choices scattered throughout which require you to re-read the sentence to make sure you understand what the author is saying. But in the whole, while this detracts a bit from the readability, the overall treatment and content are really solid. If you're looking for a quick read on getting up to speed on implementing Ubuntu Servers then this book is for you.

There is not a lot of detail, and the book focuses more on how the code articles fit together rather than how they are applied by the courts. But it was a solid overview and summary. Definitely worth the price and the time to read.

It helps you get a good overview of the basic structure of an Android app and how they're put together. This book isn't really an introduction to programming (you'd have a hard time following it if you had no background at all), and it certainly isn't an "everything you ever wanted to know about Android" type book (think "high level overview and building blocks"), but it provides enough information to help you transition to developing on the platform more quickly.My only gripe about this book is the formatting on the Kindle edition. I'm not sure how I would've done it differently truthfully but the poor formatting sometimes made it difficult to follow the code samples.

Rory McEwen: The Colours of RealityFrom Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Review It seems odd that a singer, musician, television performer and sculptor who typified the 1960s as vividly as Rory McEwen should now be known principally for his botanical paintings. From the early 1950s until his tragically early death in 1982 he was everywhere and knew everyone, but as The Colours of Reality shows, McEwen was never more himself than when working within the discipline and timeless tradition of an art form that links him with the greatest flower painters of the past. Not every botanical painter can count Jim Dine, Joseph Beuys and Ravi Shankar as his friends, play the 12-string guitar, shoot at Balmoral, influence Van Morrison, bolster the fortunes of the Wakefield and North of England Tulip Society and drive a purple Ferrari with 'Ecosse' on the tail. The natural world, though, was his compulsion: I paint flowers as a way of getting as close as possible to what I perceive as the truth, my truth of the time in which I live. This mostly means looking, looking and thinking... It is impossible not to see in his extraordinary studies of decaying leaves a reflection of his own mortality, but these are not mere vanitas paintings. He imbued everything he painted with an anthropomorphic life, and in his hands a curved stem, a bent head, a wrinkled skin or an infestation of insects is a celebration of individuality rather than dispassionate botanical observation.Often the arrangement of plants seems to speak of relationships - two anemones look like birds conducting an elaborate courtship ritual, fritillaries are apparently holding hands - but these are illustrations that need close scrutiny rather than description. Revised and reprinted after the hugely successful monographic exhibition at Kew two years ago, this elegant book with its beautiful reproductions and sumptuous 'negative spaces' does full justice not just to the botanical works, but to the story as a whole of an artist who seems to have touched the lives of everyone who ever knew him.
