I was very disappointed by the "Sentence Structure" portion By Mcoa85 I seriously question the legitimacy of all these 4 and 5 star reviews (I suspect they may be paid reviews). While this book is not completely worthless, it is hardly even an introductory review of Spanish grammar, and much of this info could probably be found on a website somewhere. The book was overly simplistic, and lacked examples. I was very disappointed by the "Sentence Structure" portion, which was a total of 4 sentences long. Two of the main things I was looking for: 1. Why is "yo, tu, ustd, nosotros, etc" sometimes used in the sentence, and other times its not (and is apparent based simply on the conjugation of the verb). 2. A good explanation of the different types of sentence structure, and the reasoning behind that. Ultimately, I guess you get what you pay for, and $3 sounds about right, since this definitely is more along the lines of a pamphlet than an actual book.

The result is you find you can use and understand far more words than you were consciously learning.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Disappointing By Steve Derne The photographs are reasonably compelling. But the "stories" are so badly written that you don't want to read them. Even when I wanted to know what was going on with the animals in the images, I couldn't bear to read the accompanying stories, which are in odd tenses, usually present or present progressive tense (e.g., "I am sitting in the back of my car...) or mixing tenses in a single passage. My copy had a flawed print with color streaking across an image.

A Book for Aspiring Wildlife Photographers By Mythmaker It took me quite some time to decide whether to purchase this book, because there is absolutely no page preview anywhere either online or in physical bookstores. Personally, I dislike photography books which are full of words and lacking of quality images. But this book strikes a nice balance of both.If you are looking for an encyclopaedia of animals in Africa, this is not the book you are looking for. This is a book for photographers, shot in beautiful light and composition with a great mix of close-ups and natural habitat. Federico Veronesi is more of a fine art wildlife photographer rather than a documentary photographer, so silhouette is a common theme in a number of his shots. There is also a 1 page long write-up of behind-the-scene story beside many of his images. Hopefully all these information will give you an idea of what to expect in the book.So if you are sick and tired of shooting the same stuff in your local zoo over and over again, hopefully this book will inspire you to get out of the house and bring your wildlife photography skills to the next level.

Stunning book, must-have for wildlife fans By Margot Raggett Having seen Federico out and about in the Maasai Mara for a number of years I was interested to finally get my hands on his book when it came out and I wasn't disappointed. Too many wildlife books are filled with images but no context to when they were taken but this book addresses that. The stories that accompany the images bring them to life for me but if like some I know, you just want to look at the pictures, you won't be disappointed with that either. The images are beautiful and also very inspiring for other aspiring wildlife photographers. Must buy.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Ethical Lectures By Jay Young Felix Adler is an unjustly neglected figure of American religious history. Unless you are familiar with the current American Humanist community, you probably haven't heard of him. Adler lived from 1851-1933 in New York. The son of a Reform Rabbi, Adler abandoned the faith of his childhood, but didn't want to give up on religion entirely. What he did was found the Society for Ethical Culture, which survives to this day. Adler was active in fighting against child labor at the turn of the 19th century, promoted tenement house reform, and strongly opposed the imperialist adventures of Teddy Roosevelt."Life and Destiny" is a collection of some of his notes from lectures that he delivered at the Ethical Culture gatherings; this is a good place to start for someone who is interested in his teachings. The two philosophers who affected Adler the most were Immanuel Kant and Ralph Waldo Emerson, and their influence is clear in these lectures. Basically, Adler believed that salvation was in action in this world, and that activity was to replace prayer. He thought that religions were ethical only insofar as they foster moral development, and that supernatural revelation was unnecessary thereto. This is an interesting book for anyone to read from a profound thinker.

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Roorbach does it all By W. Guida It's exciting to find so many of Bill Roorbach's essays collected finally into one volume. I have loved reading his work in various journals and magazines; reading them again here, along with essays I'd never read, is such a satisfying experience.I found myself laughing out loud on the subway reading the first essay, "Honeymoon," as Roorbach described some of the challenges of comunicating in France. "Into Woods," the title essay, is one of my favorites. It was an essay I made my whole family read.What I admire most about Roorbach's work is how much he can cover in an essay. He will start out in one place and then end up somewhere completely unexpected. His is such an amiable presence... so funny, so smart. Hey, he had me reading about fishing and liking it :)I look forward to any journey he takes us on.

I was a corporate communication professional for nearly 30 years (six major U.S. corporations). Now that I'm writing for Kindle and editing for client projects, I'm thrilled to find this book.Tamara Monosoff packs an astonishing amount of value into this concise volume. What a bargain! And, totally apart from the value, is the absolute usefulness of information, tools provided and clear organization to see the "big picture."This is a book I'd love to have through CreateSpace, too, so I could highlight, underline and add sticky notes. I'll refer back for my own and client projects.I'll be excited to see the second book in this two-part series.

A Fresh Start For Authors Who Need New Promotional Tools By Frank Healy, HSAM The Author To Income Formula introduces the reader to new and intriguing tools for promoting your book, including making it cell phone friendly with author videos. It also takes some of the more well known tools such as getting reviews and using Amazon Affiliates and gives you new ways to use these tools. Tamara has proven that these tools work with her own success. I look forward to working with her on promoting my own books.I have written books where I interview people who have had traumatic memories and are now happy and successful. These tools seem that they will work exceptionally well if you have written that kind of book.

I've been using this book on and off for a year while living in Italy and slowly i can find that I am understanding most of conversations. That seem like a lot, and this book is sufficient for learning a new language.

If you want to learn this language quickly and do not have much time then do read this book once. I was traveling to Italy and just read this book twice while in plane. I grabbed most words easily.

I learned some more wisdom from this great American leader By Rob Natiuk Overall, this book has value for me as I read and meditate on many famous people's famous quotations. There's an all-around education for life in doing that. In today's world, we often lack that among all ages and all professions. For wisdom today, we're more into the retorts of late-night hosts, comedians, and sitcoms. So this book is a good contribution to our wisdom. I only hope thousands of people read and study it.The quotations are nicely grouped in six sections, covering Faith and Family, Integrity and Success, Honesty and Humility, etc. As I read these quotations, I was even more impressed with the depth of Lincoln's character and common wisdom.The only exception I took was to the title itself and some promotional gimmicks. First, ENCYCLOPEDIA. 33 pages? A bit of a stretch since the word means a full dealing with a subject. Another word used in the book's description is "gigantic." And an apostrophe after "Lincoln" would please us careful English writers! I think most readers would agree with me that we get quickly tired of such bombastic promotion.Still, overlook all that and benefit from these choice quotations. Must be a couple hundred of them.

The Country's Greatest President's Inspirational and Motivational Quotes By Joe Corso I always loved reading Abraham Lincoln's quotes and this book puts all of them into an easy to read format. The quotes are broken down into categories, but forget about that and just read it from beginning to end, They are inspirational and motivational.
